A FUNDRAISING concert and children’s workshop featuring The Chameleon Arts Wind Quintet will take place at St Peter’s Church, Wrecclesham tomorrow (Friday) in aid of a Farnham girl undergoing pioneering treatment for Ehlers Danlos Syndrome in the USA.

Laura Sylvester, 24, recently underwent her fifth neurosurgery in just over a year in Washington DC in a bid to create stability in her neck and stop the compression on her brain stem that, if left untreated, could prove life-threatening.

She has already raised more than £220,000 towards her treatment through her online fundraising page www.youcaring.com/laura-sylvester-483048, and is now targeting £300,000 to help get her life back on track.

St Peter’s latest fundraising concert will take place at 6pm on Friday (June 9), featuring music on the theme of ‘children and other animals’. It will also include participants from the afternoon children’s workshop, taking place at 2.30pm.

Tickets for the concert cost £10 on the door (free for workshop participants and their families) and a retiring collection will be held for Laura’s medical fund. Additional parking is available at Wrecclesham recreation ground.
