THE Farnham Fundraising Group for Marie Curie is delighted to be hosting ‘Christmas Cheer’ with Suffletunes - a musical celebration of songs, readings and carols, with all proceeds to Marie Curie, the charity that offers care and support through terminal illness.

Fleet-based Shuffletunes is an inspirational modern community choir, founded two-and-a-half years ago by experienced choirmaster and music teacher, David Ricketts. It was his vision to create a choir that anyone could join, that would be fun for everyone involved but also serve the community by singing for charity fundraising events in all kinds of settings.

To date, performances by Shuffletunes have helped to raise more than £15,000 for charity and now for Christmas 2015, they are supporting Marie Curie in Farnham by staging this special concert.

Both the adults’ and children’s choirs will be taking part, the first half will be an assortment of contemporary songs interspersed with readings, followed by a 30-minute interval. The second part is full-on festive, with a rousing set of Christmas songs and carols and the audience are invited to join in and help raise the roof.

Fundraising group chairman Linda Lawrence said: “We are delighted that Shuffletunes are putting on this special performance for Marie Curie. It will be the perfect start to Christmas. Everyone who comes along will be in for a real treat, as well as helping us raise money for this wonderful charity.”

It will be taking place at the United Reformed Church in South Street, Farnham on Friday, December 11, from 7pm (doors opening at 6.15pm). There will be seasonal refreshments available and also a raffle with the chance to win an exclusive, personal performance by Shuffletunes or a luxury hamper full of Christmas goodies.
