A RARE opportunity to hear local community musical groups Voices Together Community Choir and Farnham Brass Band perform together occurs at 7.30pm on October 10 at St Andrew’s Church, Farnham.

The joint concert is in aid of the Friends of St Andrew’s and all proceeds will go towards the vital upkeep of the historic church, which stands at the heart of Farnham. The concert finale will be the band performing Finlandia by Sibelius, which includes the hymn ’Be Still My Soul’ sung by the choir.

Voices Together Community Choir started in January 2010 with 37 people and now number more than 90, ranging in age from 11 upwards. Farnham Brass Band have been a mainstay of Farnham and surrounding villages for 40 years.
