THE Churcher’s College Infant concert is a highlight for the school’s younger pupils, who eagerly await their chance to perform ensembles and solos and to an audience in the summer term.

The Infant Choir rose to the challenge in a simple Polynesian echo song while ensemble performances were given by beginner and advanced recorder players. An action packed performance of ‘Down There Under the Sea’ was followed by a voyage to the New World with children singing about Columbus’ preparation and a powerful percussive demonstration of a ship caught in a storm.

The evening closed with all the Liphook school pupils on stage and for many this will be the start of a long involvement with the school’s music department, which encourages and supports an ethos of music for everyone, enabling children to find the pleasure and confidence in performing to an audience.
