HAMPSHIRE and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance chiefs say that by donating clothing and other textiles to doorstep collection companies, they may be doing so in the mistaken belief that their donations are going to them.

The misunderstanding has arisen over a new collection by a company called Air Ambulance Service which has been putting leaflets through letterboxes across the county, showing a logo and a yellow air ambulance, similar to those flown by local air ambulance charities.
