FARNHAM Conservative Club sadly had to say goodbye to Helen Wheddon who has retired after six years as club secretary.

Helen has been very involved in promoting the club to new members and bringing in new business to the conference and function rooms and will be greatly missed.

Presents and flowers were presented to her at a party recently held at the club to wish her a long and happy retirement.

Jane Butler joined the club on February 1 and will take on the extended role of general manager/club secretary.

Farnham Conservative Club is situated in the heart of the town in a 1886 Grade II listed Queen Anne property with secluded courtyards and private parking for members and guests.

The club won the CAMRA Surrey and Hampshire Borders Branch Club of the year award last year, and has an entry in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide. CAMRA members are always welcome.

The club is a member of the Farnham Chamber of Commerce and plays a leading role in Farnham life supporting local charities.

The Farnham Lions and Farnham Hedgehogs regularly use the meeting rooms which are available for hire together with the Ivy Room with its own bar and dance floor. It is often used for weddings, conferences and musical events.

Many facilities are available including the use of two full sized snooker tables and frequent entertainment and functions. Including an annual trip to Glorious Goodwood Races.

Prospective members are always welcome to visit the club in Ivy Lane, Farnham, for a warm greeting and look round the premises. Membership packs are available if interested.
