THERE should have been shouts of jubilation when former Greatham Parish Council chairman Diane Buckland announced, at Monday's council meeting, that she was re-opening the village shop which closed in March.

But there was silence when it was claimed that the new owner was linked to the controversial siting of two caravans and two mobile homes on land at Fern Farm in the village.
