COOMERS Timber & Building Supplies, in Bordon and Oakhanger, presented the Haslemere and district committee of Macmillan Cancer Support with £3,552.

The builders’ merchant adopted Macmillan as its 2016 charity, and raised the money by holding corporate events including a charity golf day; by in-store collections, and by participation in the Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

Macmillan Cancer Support provides care and support to people affected by cancer. The Haslemere and district committee was formed more than 30 years ago and raises funds locally.

Thanks to the support of customers and staff, more than £21,000 has been raised for Coomers’ nominated charities since 2010.

This year the family business - with branches in Bordon, Oakhanger and Haslemere - is supporting Broadlands Group Riding for the Disabled, Medstead.

The cheque was presented on March 16.
