THE new manager at Coors Brewery in Alton has admitted to being "overwhelmed and shocked" by public reaction to plans to build a junior football hub.

More than 80 people attended the public meeting last Thursday, the vast majority of whom were opposed to the development on the Diggers elbow.

And a quarter of them stormed out of the Assembly Rooms in protest.
