A £30,000 fund could be set up by Whitehill Town Council for the purchase of land that becomes available for community facilities.
At a meeting of the finance and policy committee on Monday night, councillors agreed to recommend to full council that a Òfacilities fundÓ be created.
Town clerk Linda Tiley said the money could be used to purchase any MoD land that may be made available in the future.
She recommended that a total of £30,000 be put into the earmarked facilities reserve fund.
A decision on the proposal will be taken at the next meeting of Whitehill Town Council on April 29.
