COUNCIL house tenants are to have the final say on whether Waverley Borough Council should sell off its housing stock to a housing association, a move Conservatives claim will guarantee lower rents and lead to the provision of 350 new homes across the borough.
Members of a joint community welfare and housing and policy and resources committee agreed on Monday night that consultation with tenants over whether to transfer its full housing stock to a registered social landlord should begin immediately, subject to approval by full council.
