A FARNHAM councillor has quit her role as planning portfolio holder on Waverley Council after two months, blaming what she referred to as "an unfounded campaign of allegations" that she is a property developer.

Denise Le Gal, a Conservative borough, town and county councillor, exchanged portfolios with council leader Richard Gates last Monday, amid widespread rumours that her business interests could conflict with her planning role.
