MANY council tax payers in the Petersfield are got a bigger shock than they were expecting when their bills dropped on to their doormats this week.

East Hampshire District Council was flooded with calls complaining that the incorrect amounts had been shown on thousands of bills for the first instalment due to be collected on April.
