TAXPAYERS in Farnham face an average £73.37 hike to their council tax bills in April, it has been confirmed, after Waverley Borough Council agreed its budget this week.

Councillors signed off a 2.99 per cent rise to Waverley’s share of the tax bill at Tuesday’s full council – adding to the increases already agreed by Surrey County Council (2.99 per cent), the Surrey Police and Crime Commissioner (10 per cent) and Farnham Town Council (2.99 per cent).

Overall, it equates to a yearly £1,960.89 council tax bill for the average Band D household in Farnham – up 3.89 per cent from £1,887.52 last year.
