THE recent parish council tax increase of 15-and-a-half per cent has provoked strong reactions among residents in Bramshott and Liphook parish, who feel there should have been a local referendum and more community consultation.

East Hampshire district councillor Guy Stacpoole, who lives near Liphook, called it "an outrageous and unjustifiable increase".
