Council tax issue a little clearer

WAVERLEY'S council tax payers and council tenants have a better idea what increases to expect in April, after crucial meetings of the county and borough councils this week.

Surrey County Council, whose spending accounts for 80 per cent of the council tax, on Tuesday set its council tax rise at 2.9 per cent - its lowest increase for 15 years.
