FORMER Whitehill town councillor David Williamson this week wanted to "put the record straight" about why he resigned last November when fellow councillors voted to increase the council tax precept so they would have enough money to continue grants to key clients.

Mr Williamson believes some of the councillors should "look inwardly" and ask why residents should have to pay an increase.
