NHS experts were quizzed about when plans for the proposed Bordon health hub will actually be ready at a hub progress meeting.

The much-delayed project is a collaboration between Hampshire & Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board, Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company, and East Hampshire District Council.

Whitehill Town Council leader and Hampshire county councillor for the town, Andy Tree, said he wants to know when the plans will be ready.

Shortly before the county council adult social care select committee meeting on Tuesday, he said: “I am a committee member and integrated care board officers will be there, and I will be asking some crucial questions, and demanding answers.

“We haven’t seen any plans for the hub yet, so we can’t judge if it’s a good thing or not. There has been so much vagueness it’s unbelievable.

“I want to know when detailed plans will be ready and when we can see them.”

A planning application for the purpose-built hub was expected in December, but shortly before the deadline date, the NHS postponed submitting it until April.

Cllr Tree said: “Now they say it has been put off till the middle of this year.

“I accept these things take time, but there is so much bureaucracy and so many different groups involved it appears it isn’t moving forward.

“I want dates and answers to both my questions.”

On November 29, the NHS admitted detailed design of the health hub was ongoing.

It added: “Design workshops are now being held regularly and progress is continuing to be made.”

The proposed hub will replace Chase Community Hospital. It will combine primary care from the Badgerswood and Forest GP surgeries and community health services on a single site, as well as services currently provided at the Chase.
