WHITEHILL Town Council wants to celebrate Armed Forces Day on June 27, with the flying of a Union Flag during the ceremony as a mark of respect for the service men and women being honoured.

At the council's annual meeting on Tuesday, they agreed the best place to fly the flag would be by the town's war memorial on the A325 – but the only problem is the absence of a flagpole.
