THE state of Alton's roads and pavements and the speed of traffic passing through the town was brought up at a meeting of the Town Council last week.
"The high street is in a terrible state," said Peter Whitmarsh. "We've got to start badgering the county. It's not only horrible to look at, it's dangerous as well."
