THAI protesters caused a couple from Liphook to miss table tennis in Petersfield earlier this week.
Dick and Mary Eyre are members of the Petersfield 50+ Club, who meet twice a week at the Taro Leisure Centre, and have been involved with the Liphook Scouts and Guides for many years.
However, after stopping off in Thailand's capital Bangkok on their way back from a visit to Australia to see their son, they got caught up in the anti-government protesters rally at the city's airports.
Secretary of the 50+ club John Harrison said: "I got a e-mail from Mary, who is the group's treasurer, that they would not make the table tennis on Tuesday, as they were stuck in Bangkok." The couple were expected to fly back yesterday (Thursday) after protests died down.
Thai anti-government protesters have been fighting for months to bring the government down and on Tuesday agreed to end their occupation of Bangkok's airports, allowing thousands of stranded tourists to leave.
Passenger flights from the main international airport could resume as soon as December 4.
Protests had shut down Thailand's two main airports for more than a week.
The deal followed a court ruling that forced Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat to step down over election fraud and disbanded his governing party.
