A burglar who stole jewellery, watches and cash from homes across the town has been jailed for 30 months.
Paul Capon, 63, of Clayton Road, Farnborough, admitted four burglary offences committed in the Farnborough area and Berkshire between September and October last year.
On October 22, Capon broke into a property on Hawley Road and stole a wallet, cash, jewellery and a watch. He also entered a property on Fernhill Walk on the same day, although nothing was taken.
Six days later, on October 28, he gained access to a property on Ashbury Drive and stole jewellery, perfume, a watch, a handbag and electronic items.
Capon also broke into a property on Lower Wokingham Road, Crowthorne, on September 5 but left without stealing anything.
Following an investigation, officers arrested Capon and charged him with two counts of burglary dwelling with intent to steal and two counts of burglary dwelling and theft.
He pleaded guilty to all four offences and was sentenced at Winchester Crown Court on Thursday, June 4.
In a related case, Emily Mills, 31, of Redan Road, Aldershot, was given a community order and ordered to complete a drug rehabilitation course after pleading guilty to handling stolen goods in connection with the Ashbury Drive burglary.
She was sentenced at Basingstoke Magistrates Court in March.
Detective Sergeant Dan Lucas, from the Northern Area Crime Team, said: “Burglary is one of the most intrusive crimes. It can have untold, long-lasting impacts on the victims and no one should have to feel unsafe in their own home.
“I am pleased that we are now in a position whereby Paul Capon will now be behind bars for a significant period of time for what he has done.
“I hope this sentence sends out a strong message to would-be opportunists. We will find you, we will put you in front of the courts and you will have to face justice, and the consequences, of your actions.”
