Two men who attacked a man with knives in Farnborough have been jailed for more than eight years.
Dylan Manning, 19, of Ordnance Road, Enfield, and Elias Abdelmoumen, 19, of Holmesdale, Waltham Cross, broke into the victim’s home in Alexandra Road on Saturday, May 17.
Once inside, Abdelmoumen threatened the 19-year-old victim – who was known to them – with a machete, while Manning was armed with a large Rambo-style knife. Abdelmoumen threatened to cut the victim’s arm off before Manning punched him in the face.
The pair stole designer clothing, accessories and cash before fleeing the scene.
Officers later searched Abdelmoumen’s home in Enfield, where they found a machete. Items believed to have been stolen from the victim were also recovered from Manning’s address in Waltham Cross.
Both men were charged with aggravated burglary and pleaded guilty. They were each jailed for four years and five months at Winchester Crown Court on Monday, October 27.
Police Staff Investigator Michael Longmore, from the Northern Area Crime Team, said: “The actions of both Manning and Abdelmoumen that day were extremely violent, reckless and dangerous.
“They carried out a terrifying and senseless attack inside the victim’s home and the result of their actions could have been a lot worse.
“Anyone who picks up a knife is making a decision which creates the very real risk that they could kill or seriously injure someone.
“We hope that anyone thinking of carrying a knife recognises that there are serious consequences both for themselves and others when they make that decision to pick up a weapon.
“Our officers will do everything in their power to ensure those who choose to carry knives are arrested, charged and put before the courts.”
