A Headley Down man has been given a 12-month conditional discharge by a Surrey court after being found carrying varying forms of cannabis.

Guildford Magistrates heard that Daniel Leate was found carry 33 grams of cannabis flowering tops when stopped in Hindhead on Christmas Eve 2024.

The 48-year-old of Grayshott Road was also found in possession of 6.5 grams of cannabis and a packet of cannabis gummies.

Leate was sentenced on Tuesday (September 29) after pleading guilty to three counts of possessing a Class B drug. He was ordered to pay costs and charges totalling £111 in addition to the discharge, with his guilty pleas being taken into consideration.

The court also ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs.
