HASLEMERE Museum is set to play host to works by the Surrey Guild of Craftsmen, selling locally-made items in the museum shop.

Melanie Odell, president of Haslemere Museum, met Iveta Goddard of the Surrey guild, who struck up the idea of the partnership.

Melanie then met with guild organiser Nancy Shafee, and the partnership became a reality.

“Here we are in February with four different collections lined up to showcase and sell in the shop,” said Melanie.

“Haslemere people have lots of very beautiful objects to browse and buy, the Surrey Guild have another outlet to sell from, giving them some positive exposure and the museum shop can attract more customers.”

The first two collections in the shop are by Nancy Shafee, a textiles artist, and Iveta, a ceramiscist.

The museum shop is open on Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10am to 5pm and is run by staff and volunteers from the museum.
