NEIGHBOURS who objected in vain to a new drive being allowed on a fast bend in Crooksbury Road have seen a bad accident at the spot, even before the drive is constructed.
It was only a month ago that Waverley Council officers, under delegated powers, gave consent for a house owner to relocate their access from Binton Lane, round the corner into Crooksbury Road near the Camp Hill junction.
Permission was granted despite the objections of neighbours and Tilford Parish Council, who stated the new entrance was potentially more dangerous than the old, as it was just around a blind corner through which vehicles frequently speed.
