Creative Response Arts Charity in Farnham is embarking on a new venture to tell the stories of the area’s Ukrainian community through photography.

Located in several high-ceilinged, light-filled rooms right next to Farnham Library, Creative Response offers a supportive environment for individuals who are vulnerable because of mental health issues, learning difficulties, physical difficulties and substance misuse problems.

The charity’s mission is to promote personal resilience and well-being through the arts, and it has seen enchanting works of art flow from many hands as a result.

Creative Response has been supporting a Ukrainian art group that has found a tranquil haven there.

Now the photography project aims to give people the opportunity to boost their confidence and tell their stories.

The hope is that these stories will inspire and support others to live, fight and believe.

The project is planning to feature a series of portraits and stories in a unique and moving exhibition.

However, the charity is still in need of additional photographic materials, especially lights and screens. If anybody has any photographic equipment which is no longer needed, the charity would be most grateful for the loan of it so that more people can be involved in photography.

The photo studio has been assembled bit by bit, and Creative Response is eagerly awaiting the day when it can showcase the inspiring stories and photos that will emerge from this project.

Anyone who would like to get involved can contact Creative Response by emailing [email protected] or calling 01252 716876.
