FARNHAM Maltings is to offer more creative sessions for the over 65s thanks to a sizeable donation by home care provider Right at Home.
Alastair Shanks, managing director at Right at Home Guildford, presented a cheque for £500 to Sue Ellis, deputy director at Farnham Maltings earlier this month in support of the venue’s Arts and Elders programme.
The money was raised at Right at Home’s Musical Memories event with the help of Bentley’s Pax Hill care home, Hexagon mobility centre and Barringtons Solicitors.
It will help fund new sessions for over 65s at the Maltings for the ‘meet me at the maltings’ programme such as pottery, poetry and photography.
Right at Home offers hourly and live-in care to people in their own homes and aims to revitalise the lives of older people in Farnham.
It already sponsors regular weekly sessions of ‘Singing for the Brain’ which take place every Monday at 1.30pm and hold other events in the community.
“We’re so pleased to be able to support the growing programme of activities taking place at the Maltings,” said Mr Shanks.
“It’s a fantastic venue with so much going on for all ages and our clients really enjoy the events they attend.”
