TWO outspoken Farnham councillors have been deselected from the Conservative party, apparently for opposing Waverley Borough Council's controversial Brightwells development. Roger Steel, councillor for Farnham Moor Park and a former Waverley executive member, and John Ward, councillor for Shortheath and Boundstone and the leader of Farnham Town Council, were this week told their services are not needed by the Tories in the next local government elections, set to take place in 2015. It comes just weeks after another prominent Waverley councillor and former executive member, ex-planning portfolio holder Bryn Morgan, quit the party amid claims of "gagging" shortly after he was also deselected.
