FARNHAM'S long summer of traffic disruption is set to continue on Saturday with the closure of the Station Hill level crossing for 11 days.

The crossing will be closed to all road traffic from 11pm on Saturday until 6am on Tuesday, August 27, while Network Rail replace barriers, site lighting and CCTV equipment.

A signed diversion will be in place during the closure and pedestrian access across the level crossing via the Farnham station foot bridge will be maintained.

Trains will operate from Farnham as usual and disabled persons and those with pushchairs will be escorted across the level crossing by a Network Rail crossing attendant.

The work is part of the wider Farnham signal renewal project, to replace life-expired signalling equipment along the Alton line between Ash Vale and Alton.
