CONCERN for the safety of pedestrians shopping in the town has prompted Haslemere Town Council to look into the possibility of providing a crossing in Petworth Road.
Councillors agreed to approach Surrey County Council after expressing concerns that the traffic and layout of the town not only pose dangers to the elderly and disabled but also to mothers with prams.
