STUDENTS at St Peter’s Primary School transformed into elves in aid of Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.
Children and staff at St Peter’s donned reindeer antlers, red noses and elf hats as they ran around the all-weather running track at the school.
Headteacher Sarah Dunning said: “Children completed as many laps as they could in 25 minutes.
“They really embraced the challenge and understood why they were running and who they were raising money for.
“There was a lot of mud, but it was a great way to support the local community while keeping fit and having fun.”
Proceeds are still being counted.
Phyllis Tuckwell also held its own Santa and Rudolph fun runs this year, with 500 people gathering across three venues.
The festive fun runs took place at the Devil’s Punch Bowl in Hindhead on Sunday, November 25, in Godalming town centre on Saturday, December 8, and at the Wavell School in Aldershot on Sunday, December 9.
All three runs were family affairs, with adults in Santa suits, children wearing reindeer antlers and red noses, and many four-legged friends joining in the fun!
Everyone who completed a fun run received a goody bag and medal, and all the money raised will go directly to supporting local patients and families who are living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer.
Fiona Chapman, events fundraiser at the hospice, said: “We would like to thank everyone who came along this year, from those who took part to those who sponsored them and came to cheer them on, and all our wonderful volunteers who helped in so many different ways.”
Fiona added that sponsorship money was still coming in but it was hoped the total would top £10,000.
