ORGANISERS of Liphook's biggest fundraising event – the LiDBA charity bike ride – are making final arrangements for Sunday's renewal.

After two years of rain, they are keeping their fingers crossed and eyes on the weather forecast, which is predicting sunshine and clear skies, hoping to encourage last-minute entries on the day.

Hundreds of cyclists are expected to take part, raising thousands of pounds for local charities.

The 25-mile ride, which is now in its 23rd year, starts from Bohunt Centre at 10am

The Junior's ride for under 12 year olds begins at 10.30am. Check-in points are due to open from 8.30am. Liphook Square will be closed for all traffic between 9.55am and 10.20am.

Last year's event raised £43,036 – down from the record of £64,887 set in 2010.
