CYCLISTS have kick-started a campaign to put pressure on the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to allow them to ride their bikes on Army land in Whitehill and Bordon.

They have spoken of their disappointment over a crackdown on cycling, particularly on the perimeter track of the Longmoor Ranges.

But this week an MoD spokesman insisted the bye-laws - which prohibit the use of any vehicle including push bikes on the land - have been in place for years. The spokesman said that, due to "additional usage on the training area", rangers had been out and about enforcing the rules.
