Roads underwater as isolated flooding reported around Herald & Post areaMore than 600 people have signed a petition to convert the old A3 north of Queen Elizabeth Country Park into a cycle route.
The former road lies high above the Butser Cutting and can still be seen by looking west between the chalk pit and the park entrance.
Organisers believe more people would cycle between Petersfield and Clanfield if a safer route existed, with the path having a mild incline.
Petition organiser Robert Sebley said cyclists have been campaigning for years to get the old road turned into a safe path.
