THE Dance Movement, a resident dance company at the Farnham Maltings is leading a danceathon to raise money for Sport Relief.

The event will take place on Saturday, March 19, between 10am and 1noon. There will be six, 20-minute sessions where participants will be able to have a go at dancing along to Michael Jackson’s Thriller, joining in with some Bollywood and limbering up to take part in some ballet sequences.

Rachel Palmer, programme director at The Dance Movement said: “We are particularly keen to encourage mums and daughters to come along to the danceathon and to have fun taking part in an activity together. Dance is for everyone and this event aims to raise money and give participants a really brief insight into some different styles of dancing.“

The danceathon will cost £2 per person to take part. It is being held at the Farnham Maltings and is part of Spark, which is an annual youth arts festival that celebrates the achievements of young people in Waverley. Spark is delivered by Waverley Borough Council and the Farnham Maltings.
