FORMER Alton hockey player Alex Danson scored one of the goals that netted Britain its first hockey medal since 1992.

The GB women's hockey team beat New Zealand in the bronze medal match at the Riverbank Arena on Friday.

Alex, who began her career at Alton Hockey Club, ended up as the team's top scorer, with five goals.
