SOME of biggest stars in world darts are stepping up to the oche to help Frimley Park Hospital.

World champions Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams, Ted ‘The Count’ Hankey, John ‘Boy’ Walton, Trina ‘Golden Girl’ Gulliver and Andy ‘The Viking’ Fordham will be among the famous players aiming to hit the bulls-eye for the hospital’s Breast Care Appeal on September 30.

The Lakeside Frimley Park Hospital Darts Challenge will take place at Lakeside Country Club in Frimley Green, home to the British Darts Organisation’s World Darts Championship.

It is being presented by Lakeside’s Bob and Barbara Potter, who will be donating all money from ticket sales to the Breast Care Appeal.

The appeal aims to raise £750,000 toward a dedicated breast clinic with diagnostic equipment that will allow doctors to detect cancers earlier and save more lives.

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Frimley Park, has pledged to match those funds to complete a £1.5m investment that will transform services for the 6,000 people who use the hospital’s breast services each year.

Sally McLaren, fundraising manager at Frimley Health Charity, said: “We hope you will join us for what promises to be a spectacular night in aid of a very worthy cause.

“The Lakeside audience will see some of the most famous players in the game going head to head, while also playing their part in helping to further improve services for breast patients across the area. It will be an occasion you don’t want to miss.”

Standard tickets for the Lakeside Frimley Park Darts Challenge are priced £20. VIP tickets, which include the best seats and a chance to meet the players, cost £55.
