DAVID Cooper has been elected mayor of Whitehill.

Mr Cooper was sworn in at Whitehill Town Council’s annual meeting last Monday to serve as chairman of the council and mayor of the town for the next year.

Colin Leach was voted in as vice-chairman and deputy mayor.

Mr Cooper paid tribute to outgoing mayor Sally Pond, adding: “As a deputy, I learned a great deal from her.”
