Froxfield CE Primary School had a wonderful day of festivities on May 5 to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III.

Children came to school patriotically dressed in red, white and blue and enjoyed a range of memorable activities throughout the day.

The children decorated a commemorative coaster to take home along with a special coin to mark the coronation.

During the afternoon, the older years organised and ran a range of traditional English games in the playground for everyone to take part in and enjoy.

The highlight of the afternoon was the coronation cake decorating competition, which was judged by the chair of governors, Mrs Hollis. Many children took part, designing some amazing cakes, including crowns, Union Jacks, a coronation bus and even a throne. The day ended with the singing of the National Anthem and then the cakes were sold, raising more than £300 for the school.
