AN off-duty murder squad detective could get a bravery award after wrestling a man with a sword to the ground during a family day out in Alton.
Dc Stevie Longshaw act of bravery came at the end of a trip on the Mid Hants steam railway when he was suddenly faced with a violent racist with an 18-inch sword. The man has since been committed under the Mental Health Act.
