THE average South East employee would be just 29 days from the breadline if their income stopped, below the UK average of 32 days - according to new research by insurer Legal & General.
Nearly a quarter of the 2,000 people surveyed (23 per cent) nationwide said they didn’t save any of their income each month, and 26 per cent said their current savings would only last a week or less if they were unable to work.
