FARNHAM’S annual celebration of all things food and drink begins this Saturday (September 16).

Around 15 pubs, restaurants and cafes will take part in Taste Farnham. The fortnight-long event will see participating venues offering a variety of special offers aimed at encouraging residents and visitors to discover somewhere new to eat in Farnham.

Farnham’s feast of food and drink is organised by Farnham Town Council and sponsored by The Wheatsheaf and Farnham Sixth Form College.

The feast will conclude on Saturday, September 30, with Farnham’s Food and Drink Festival, which is one of the area’s largest free, one-day food festivals.

From 10am to 4pm, more than 100 stalls will line the length and breadth of Castle Street offering a range of delectable delights. There will be live music, entertainment for children and cookery demonstrations.

Jill Hargreaves, the town council’s lead member for tourism and events, said: “We have spiced up Farnham’s annual celebration of food and drink to give it a fresh look for 2017. Now in its ninth year, the event gets bigger and better every year and 2017 promises to be no exception.

“Our first ever gin festival sold out in just a few days and Taste Farnham will present the perfect opportunity to try a new eating experience while the Food and Drink Festival will be a great day out for both food lovers and families.

“I am grateful to our sponsors for making it possible to make this popular annual event even better.”
