RELIEF that the battle of the Whitedown Allotments is finally over could be felt in a rather crowded Town Hall last Thursday, when Alton Town Council met to end the debate once and for all.
Mr Galpin, chairman of the allotment association said he "couldn't be more pleased" and would like to express his "heartfelt' thanks to all who responded to the controversial proposal.
