A FIRM behind a major development in Clanfield has been criticised by surgery bosses for failing to cough up funds for a busy surgery.

Clanfield Surgery is still waiting to receive a handout from Barratt Homes as part of the deal to build dozens of properties off Green Lane.

The surgery was promised a six-figure sum in developer contributions but has yet to receive a penny since permission was granted in April 2012.

Parish councillors heard on Tuesday that doctors have chipped in their own funds and have taken on another partner to meet the increased demand.

But they desperately need the funding from Barratt Homes to provide extra room and appointments for people in the growing village.
