THE developers hoping to build homes next to The Cedars in Binsted have insisted that they have "no intention" of seeing the village's pub disappear.

Amplio Developments Ltd acquired The Cedars in June and have since put in an outline application to construct four homes on the site.

This week, as campaign group Save The Cedars continues to resist their plans, James Stacpoole from Amplio has said that claims the pub is "under threat from developers" are "just not true".

"As it was the only remaining pub in the village we knew closing The Cedars would be resisted and it has never been on our radar," he explained.
