Did you see Tesco cafe attack?

A 53-YEAR-OLD man was viciously assaulted after he took a group of vandals to task in the cafe of Tesco supermarket at Wey Hill, Haslemere.

The man was enjoying a drink on his own at 4-30 pm on Thursday, last week when he noticed three youths throwing food around the cafe.

When he told them to stop what they were doing, they pinned him against a machine and rained punches on his ribs and chest.

The store manager rushed over to help the man while another member of staff succeeded in pulling the youths away from him. The attackers escaped on foot.

Police are currently using CCTV footage to try to identify the attackers and have issued descriptions.

All the youths are white, one has short, dark hair, is heavy set and was wearing a dark jumper. One has fair hair and was wearing dark trousers and a green shirt. The third youth has dark hair and was wearing black trousers with a cream and black jumper.

The man suffered bruising but did not require medical treatment. Police are appealing for anyone with more information to contact them on 01252 716262.
