STUDENTS and teachers at Farnham Heath End School pulled together as the nation dug deep in their pockets for Children in Need – raising £1,000 and counting for the annual appeal.
Teachers, with the help of students, hosted a jam-packed afternoon full of games and activities to raise as much money as they can and further highlight the importance of charity giving and events like this.
Andrew Reddy, head of year nine, who helped to organise the event, said: “Students were given the chance to wear their own clothes for a small donation of £1 each. We had various market stalls, where students paid a certain amount and were able to play different games on the stalls, such as a tombola and higher and lower and winners were given a prize.
“Others hosted a cake sales and some students participated in a sponsored silence.
One girl committed to doing 150 turnovers in the space of the lunch break and she did so – I think she was rather dizzy afterwards. It was a really good day and everyone was in good spirits – I am very pleased.”
