A BLACK-tie event is being hosted by Surrey County Council chairman Sally Marks to raise money for hospices across the county.

The fundraiser, at Loseley Park in Guildford on Wednesday at 7pm, will feature dinner, a silent auction, a live auction, and a raffle.

Mrs Marks said: “I’m passionate about supporting our local hospices as they provide vital respite care not only for the carers but also those receiving care.

“Every hospice has to find a large chunk of its funding from the public and this event is something I can do to help so I hope people can attend and raise crucial money.”
