THE Holme School in Headley suffered two major leaks which flooded a large area of the school on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The first leak meant pupils had to be turned away at the gate on Tuesday morning, while teachers and helpers pitched in to help contain the flood.
The cause was a dishwasher which sprung a huge leak at around 7-30am, spilling gallons of water all over the main hall which overflowed into the corridor and into the front office.
Headteacher Jenny Butterworth said: "It was all very exciting at the time and everyone chipped in to contain the flood."
On Wednesday, as the dishwasher was being repaired, another leak forced children outside to finish their lunch.
Once again, teachers and helpers had to get out their mops.
Mrs Butterworth added: "I have been really impressed with the way everyone has dealt with this. It's been a real team effort.
"We have to try our best to clear everything up before our Ofsted inspection on Friday when we have also scheduled various teacher meetings."
The school is also holding a summer fete tomorrow (Saturday), and staff hope to have the mess cleared up by opening time at 2-30 pm.
